It began with an essay contest and some family history. After witnessing the impact of entering and succeeding in an essay contest, Antonio Centeno decided to create the Young Writers’ Guild to encourage young writers. He invited Hayley Schoeppler to join him.
As a young homeschooler who loved writing, Hayley discovered essay competitions. Through the rest of her homeschool experience, she entered essay competitions, winning and placing in several during high school. A professional writer and tutor, Hayley loves introducing her students to writing and teaching them to love writing and historical research.
At the Guild, we understand there’s nothing more encouraging than good feedback. We want to encourage young writers to grow in their craft while also encouraging historical research and critical thinking.
By recognizing all participants, we want to encourage young writers but also reward excellence with our grand prizes.
